Earl's Court Painters & Decorators

Mansion-block decoration

Long corridors, repeated doorways and several stair flights make a mansion-block repaint a building-wide exercise in coordination. We develop the decorative scope with the authorised representative so each phase belongs to the same coherent scheme.

Map repeated spaces without overlooking differences

Group the corridors and stairs by floor, recording changes in wall condition, lighting and existing finishes. A repeated layout does not mean identical preparation. Include service cupboards and entrance recesses only where they belong to the instruction, and establish how any inaccessible area will be assessed.

Use the entrance as a reference, not a separate design

Consider how the principal hall, secondary circulation and upper floors relate. View samples under the lights that will remain in use, and record where different sheens or colours have been agreed. Clear transitions between surfaces matter especially where a corridor is seen along its full length.

Phase the work around movement through the block

Agree a floor-by-floor or stair-by-stair sequence with the managing agent, freeholder or residents' association. Establish arrangements for deliveries, housekeeping and resident notices. Where lifts are present, confirm permitted use and protection; where they are absent, plan the handling route before materials arrive.

Keep decorative work distinct from building systems

Door closers, seals, identification signs and other operational fittings must be identified before painting. A decorative instruction is not a fire-door inspection or a building-safety assessment. Any proposed alteration to those elements needs the building's appropriate professional instruction, with the repaint coordinated around it.

Arrange an Earl's Court repaint

A room, a staircase,
a whole elevation.

Start with the part of the property you want to change. Add who occupies it, when it can be released and whether a managing agent or freeholder needs to approve the work.
